Weekly Parent Bulletin (Sep 12, 2022)
Good evening Nestle Neutrons, I hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend. Monday we will have our first Lockdown Drill as required by LAUSD. Tuesday, there will be an ELAC elections meeting at 9:00am. Wednesday we will have a Room Parent Meet and Greet in Rm #19. Thursday is Picture Day and there will be an SSC Parent Orientation and Election meeting at 9:00 in Rm 19. Our PTA membership and Donation Drive continues. Thank you to everyone who has donated. Ms. Ekerling's class and Ms. Chiapa's class are in the lead so far. Money raised from donations will provide busses for fieldtrips and psychomotor among other things that LAUSD does not pay for. Donations can also pay for a music or art teacher. I just received an email last week that even though we were allocated 1 day of a Dance teacher, the District is having difficulty finding dance teachers so it is possible that we won't get one this year, that is unless we fund a private one on our own, which is exactly how our neighboring schools fund their art and music programs; through parent donations. We will have a semester of a theater teacher in January, which will be for one day per week, which is funded by the District. I invite you to attend my Coffee with the Principal on September 23rd, at 8:30 am in the auditorium, where you will see our budget for the year and find out just how schools are really financed.
